ATTENTION - When installing a new starter motor, it is is to also install the latest Bendix including crown wheel. Both are available in the shop.
Please note that it is generally known that all KTM models that this starter fits place a very heavy load on the starter motor. The reason for a starter defect is very often a Bendix problem.
If the Bendix is no longer working at 100%, the starter will also no longer work properly. However, it will continue to try to start the engine. This can lead to the starter burning out or the starter gear being damaged, among other things.
Therefore, there is no warranty on burnt-out starters or starters with damaged drive gears.
KTM modified the Bendix and the crown wheel for the 2016 model year to solve this problem.
